Colin Maund BSc (Econ), MCIPS - Chief Executive Officer
Colin graduated from the London School of Economics (LSE) and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
He has worked for many major public and private sector organisations including HM Treasury and the CBI where he specialised in EC Procurement Legislation. Previously he was on the Publishers Board of the Journal of the EC Public Contract Law and the UK Representative to UNICE. He represented the views of the industry to the House of Lords Committee of Enquiry on Public Procurement, has broadcast on national radio and television and has written a number of articles on EC procurement legislation for Journals in the UK and Europe. More recently he has become a member of the European Commission Advisory Committee on the Opening-Up of Public Procurement.
Chief Executive of the Achilles Group of Companies he was appointed in 1993 to set up the UK operation.
Sturla Sand - Chairman
Sturla Sand has more than 20 years downstream and upstream oil industry experience. He has held a variety of positions in this industry ranging from R&D (process control/computer systems), refinery operations to commercial contracting with various Shell companies in Europe and Asia.
He has furthermore been actively involved in turn-around work related to a number of companies in various sectors. Likewise he has been a key driver in a number of new start-ups (oil and gas service sector, new oil company etc.). He established the initial Achilles organisation in Norway in 1990 to provide joint supplier pre-qualification services to the regional oil industry. He has also been involved in setting up similar systems for other industry sectors e.g electricity and railways in the Nordic region as well as in other geographies.
Currently chairman of the board of the Achilles parent company - Achilles Group Limited.
