First Point Assessment (FPAL) is the oil & gas industry's supply chain database for the UKCS.  The system operates as a neutral industry steered organisation connecting buyers and suppliers while facilitating efficiencies in the supply chain.

FPAL was set up in 1996 for the industry by the industry to replace in house vendor approved lists and has become the key tool used by purchasers to source and select suppliers.  Today the system matches the needs of over 80 purchasing organisations with the capabilities of over 2,400 suppliers.
