Verify is focused on Safety, Health, the Environment and Quality (SHEQ) assessments. Over 30 Utilities and more than 35 of their contracting partners use the system to qualify their supply chain through a standard assessment of their management systems and site performance. This can lead to a significant reduction in the time and effort required to pre-qualify for contracts.
By registering on Verify, suppliers and contractors will gain a clear understanding of the industry's requirements. The assessments generate detailed reports of the company's capabilities that can be used both as an aid to sourcing for the Utilities but also as valuable guidance on improvements for the company being assessed.
Verify Category B2
- Includes both a management system evaluation and site assessment.
- Each company is assigned a qualified Verify assessor who will visit an operating site annually, and assess the company's management systems every two years.
- The company is scored against set criteria and benchmarked against the industry average.
- The management system assessment can be based on a questionnaire response, or face-to-face during an Office Visit.
Verify Category B1
- Assessment structure similar to Category B2, with a management system evaluation and site assessment.
- Assessments tailored to focus on the processes and procedures that apply to companies with less than 20 employees.
- An assessment every two years that is as rigorous as Category B2, and the reports are directly comparable.
- Registering companies must be nominated by a Utility or Patron Member.
Verify Category A
- A paper-based assessment of a company's SHEQ management systems.
- The assessment applies to companies who supply products, goods or low risk services only.
- Suppliers complete a short questionnaire, focusing on areas that are applicable to their type of organisation.
- Suppliers in this category should not be undertaking significant service or maintenance type of work, as this requires a Category B1 or B2 assessment.
Verify Patron Membership
- This enables major contractors to assess their own supply chain in the same way as the Utilities Subscribers.
- Registration includes Verify Category B2 assessment and is open to any company wishing to work with the Utilities.
- Ability to access all supplier reports held within the Verify system.
- Opportunity to influence the development of the system as part of the User Group, together with the subscribing Utilities and other Patron Members.

Verify Optional Office Visit
The Optional Office Visit is the favoured alternative to completing the Verify B2 questionnaire. A qualified Verify Assessor will visit the contractor's offices, view the required evidence available and speak with the appropriate SHEQ and management representatives. The assessor is then able to complete the management system review that will form part of the final Verify report.
NOTE: 75% of companies who renew their registration for Category B2 select the Optional Office Visit.
Verify Additional Site Visits
An Additional Site Visit allows a company to demonstrate that their capabilities will transfer into more than one sector of the utility industry. For each additional site, an assessment will be provided based on the existing management systems appraisal.
NOTE: Companies working in Gas, Power and Water sectors often select this option to highlight their varied experience.
Verify Fast Track Option (Subject to Availability)
The Fast Track Option aims to complete the Verify B2 process in as little time as possible. The assessor will undertake a management systems evaluation of the company, and proceed onto the onsite assessment within 5 days of the initial office visit. Achilles aim to complete the entire verification process within 10 working days from the initial office visit.
NOTE: The Fast Track option is often used to meet tight deadlines during tender process.
Supplementary Documents
Verify currently provides the facility to include additional information with suppliers' and contractors' online reports and/or to host information between suppliers and contractors and you, their customers. Insurance Documents, Improvement Plans, Contract-specific Information, Policy Statements and Customer References are examples of documents which could be included. This service is available to all registered suppliers and is Free of Charge to Patron Members.
Verify Insurance
In conjunction with insurance specialist Morgan Law Ltd, Achilles is able to provide Verify members exclusive insurance arrangements. This solution will provide companies with the most comprehensive insurance cover for their working activities, at a competitive price. The Verify report provides the underwriters with a detailed understanding of a company's SHEQ activities. Not only does this offer the potential for savings, but can also help ensure that a company has sufficient insurance cover for the work they undertake.
